SRanger - GNU/Linux support and DSP Tools E-mail
Wednesday, 04 February 2009 17:08
This project delivers GNU/Linux support (USB driver and Tools) for a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) cards of the Signal Ranger series by SOFT dBSR-STDThis project delivers GNU/Linux support (USB driver and Tools) for a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) cards of the Signal Ranger series by SOFT dB, (look here for more details) connected to a GNU/Linux host via USB. The Signal Ranger MK2 is a fixed point DSP board featuring a 300 MHz TMS320C5502 DSP, a 400 kgates SPARTAN 3 FPGA and a high-speed USB 2 interface, providing fast communications to the board (see details on the technical features). The Signal Ranger STD is a fixed point DSP board featuring a 100 MHz TMS320C5402 DSP and a full-speed USB interface (see details on the technical features). The Signal Ranger DSP board series is recognized for its performance and reliability; particularly suitable for a variety of applications, including:
  • Multi-channel speech and audio acquisition and processing;
  • Multi-channel control;
  • Instrumentation and measurement;
  • Vibro-acoustic analysis (consult SR-8Channel Analyzer);
  • Acoustic Array processing/Beam forming;SR-MK2
  • DSP software development.
for example;
  • Controller for a Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (Automatic approach to creating the tunnel junction, Digital control loop to stabilize the tunnel current and tip position, Image acquisition, real-time data compression and transmission to PC);
  • Digital controllers for Hydraulic test applications (Real time data acquisition, signal monitoring and replay of data, Real-time oscilloscope and data logging, Real-time signal generators with sweep control sine, triangle and square).
  • ...and many others...
for more examples take a look here. Srange project provides GNU/Linux support for the Signal Ranger Mark 2 (SR-Mk2); it is tested for all linux kernels 2.6.20 and later and to the Signal Ranger SP2 and STD USB kernel module (Linux 2.4.18 and later, 2.6.12 and later are supported).
