XCircuit - Version 3.8.7 (devel) and 3.7.30 (stable) E-mail
Saturday, 11 February 2012 22:11

XCircuit a schematic drawing tool targeted at producing nice publishable schematic capturesXCircuit is a powerful open source schematic capture program. It has most of the features of a general purpose drawing package and includes a symbol library facility that can be used to store user defined schematic symbols. Schematics, libraries of vacuum tube, flow charts, chemical diagrams, and even musical scores may be created with XCircuit by loading the freely available symbol libraries. A mathematical symbol typesetting capability is included in the program. XCircuit uses the PostScript language for its output and library files. The PostScript created by XCircuit is human readable which makes manual editing possible.

  • 3.8.6 and 3.7.29: Corrected a few problems with the "Writeall" dialog box and the technology file saving code.
  • 3.8.7 and 3.7.30: Corrected an error where graphic image data is not saved with a technology file, if a graphic is part of a symbol in the technology library. This problem reveals a second error, which is that a graphic image call in a file to a graphic for which there is no declared data causes a segmentation fault. The segfault issue was corrected first, then the code reworked so that dependent graphic image data are saved at the top of the technology file.
