Physics is a GNU/Linux distribution live CD mainly for physical simulations. It would be useful for learning and teaching and research in physics. The CD contains many essential mathematics, physics, and chemistry related softwares for computations and developing simulation programs. A partial list of softwares can be found below;
  • Scilab;
  • Maxima;
  • Octave;
  • Fityk;
  • ...and many others!
There are, also, various physical simulations (broken link) on line. It is based on Slax 5.1.8 and Slackware 11. This version of Physics (broken link) contains XFCE 4.4.0 desktop.

NOTE (Update April 30 2009): Due to lack of funding, the physics-live.org will no longer be available after the end of May 2009. All downloads will be moved to somewhere else. This is not the end of the project. I will continue developing the physics-live CD. Currently I am working on the next version of the CD.
